NICK - LEE JERRUM

 

The rebel of the group, unable to often see their point of view, Nick is not only the bad boy but also the muscle when it comes to fighting their encounters with the infected.  Despite Steve's dislike of him, he knows that in a conflict, Nick is the one person you'd want between you and the undead.  However, his "gung-ho" actions had led to putting others in danger and it is believed he led Chris to his doom.  Claire seems to be able to keep him in check, but he is slowly turning her towards his point of view much to the hatred of Steve.  He sees Andrew as a weak member and believes he can toughen him up, which in Steve's eyes means place him in danger.  Andrew however sees Nick as a person to follow and aspires to be like him, which in turn has created conflict between them both and Adele.  Despite Nick agreeing for Rob to take charge, it's clear he is unable to follow his leadership.  There is even suggestion he may leave the group, something that certain people would be happy to see.

 

Lee Jerrum was keen to be involved with Dead End despite the fact he was located hundreds of miles away and it was unpaid work.  Having appeared in some much larger budget productions, and also working on the movie Inbred, Lee still found time for the character of Nick and played the role perfectly.  Nick comes off as the bad guy but for the right reasons kind of character thanks to Lee who also worked on some of the characters background.
